Experiencing disturbed or lack of sleep? Experiencing quarrels or misunderstanding with your partner? Your Bedroom Feng Shui may be to blame.
Since connecting with yourself and your partner is a priority, a supportive environment that assures well-being, comfort and privacy is optimal. In addition, having a deep and undisturbed sleep will revitalize you physically, emotionally and spiritually.
In order to create Feng Shui magic in your bedroom, follow these tips:
Keep it Clean.
Be sure that there is no clutter in, around and under your bed. Remove or minimize the number of books near your bedside and remove work projects, papers and bills to ensure a more peaceful sleep.
Your bedroom décor should be soft, warm, inviting and graceful.
Use silk or satin bedding and sheer, damask or lace curtains as these textures enhance serenity and calm the energy.
The use of soft and soothing colors in the bedroom is ideal. However, if you prefer warmer colors, stick to earth tones. If you prefer cooler colors go with greens and lavender. Lavender hues create a calming effect, pinks and peaches invite love and romance, hints of red, maroon, burgundy and pomegranate bring excitement and passion.
Accent the room with rugs, linen, pottery, art and picture frames. These items should invoke feelings of joy and love when you look at them.
Make use of rounded edges and corners in bedroom furniture. Use furniture made from natural materials. Wood such as pine, oak, and teak deliver earth’s energy. Position your dressing mirror in such a way that your bed is not directly reflected in the mirror.
Use a lamp to shine light towards the ceiling to fill empty space and move otherwise stagnate and stale energy. Use dimming lights to create an ambience for contemplation, romance and relaxation. If using ceiling fans, make sure they are placed closer to the foot of your bed rather than over your upper body.
Use a painting or photograph (of lush landscape or your favorite vacation) that inspires you, motivates you, and reminds you of wonderful times in your life, and display it in such a way that it is visible from all angles.
Recycle the air and energy by keeping the windows open for some time to allow fresh air to circulate.
Avoid wavy shapes and water features as they create instability in the energy fields.
Avoid fireplaces in the bedroom. Fire is too hot and too chaotic for the bedroom, making the relationship unstable.
Avoid exposed beams, overhung cabinets and soffits in the ceiling as they generate oppressive energy.
The placement of your bed is very important as it offers you strength, protection, health and progress. In general, the best position for the bed is in the back corner of the room diagonally opposite the door. This provides you with grounding and power because of the solid wall behind the bed and the expanded view of the room and door.
In addition, the headboard represents stability and support. Solid wood headboards are the best, since they are heavy and bring in the healing energy of trees.
Avoid placing the bed against the window as it brings financial insecurity in life; and avoid placing the bed in direct line with the door as this is very harmful due to always being targeted by fast moving energy.
Computers, treadmills, televisions and other electronic devices radiate electromagnetic waves which are detrimental to health, fertility and serene sleep. For the best possible Feng Shui, remove all electronic items from bedroom. If you wish to have a TV or other electronics in the bedroom, make sure that they are stored in an enclosed cabinet while you sleep.
Wishing you a wonderful Sleep!
